The deployment stage of a website build can make or break the project. For this reason, the most important first stage of any successful website deployment is identifying the team who will run the site, both during the launch, and throughout its full life cycle.
There are a variety of roles that need to be fulfilled within this team. From creating original and engaging content, to keeping a watchful eye on how closely the site is fulfilling its objectives.
It's not exceptional for one person to fulfil all the roles of the deployment team. But it makes things easier if that person has a clear idea of what's required.
While larger projects may have a group of people who can share the responsibilities of managing their organisations website, it's not unusual for more modest projects to have a team of one. Irrespective of the number of people involved, it's important to have a clear understanding of the individual roles within the deployment team.
